I never knew about the bokeh effect until I signed up here. It's something else I have been experimenting with. I think this shot could have been more effective if I'd rigged up some something to shade the vine leaves so they were darker, though I'm still struggling with where to draw the line with taking a natural vs. manipulated shot.
Oh I really like the light in amongst the vine leaves in this image. I don't think it would have the same impact for me if it wasn't there. Nice bokeh too.
This is lovely. You could try it with a plain sky (white) background although you will lose the bokeh, but you'll get a lovely out of focus effect on some of the leaves, especially if you reduce your DOF. Lots of room to play!
