Hollingworth Lake 1 by oldjosh

Hollingworth Lake 1

My sister’s birthday walk.
We started at the Hollingworth Lake Visitor center, just off the left of the photo, following the road across the dam we turned up the lane you can see beside the houses. Passing the building just visible higher up the hill we passed the left pylon at the top of the hill. Going round the hill we started to descend towards the buildings in the middle of the photo; opposite the second we descended the steep hill and up the other side. Eventually near the factory building, that appears to have a wind turbine on the top of its chimney, we rejoined the road. We followed the road for a short way before turning left to walk round the lake. A walk of 6½ miles.

What a lovely walk you must have had and on such a lovely day too. You've captured the route well on this picture. Where is Hollingworth Lake?

@susiemc Thank you Sue, it was a pleasant and interesting walk. The lake is on the edge of Greater Manchester a few miles from Rochdale, the outskirts of which are on the left edge of view 3 of the lake

Lovely, I like description as I can "see" more. I do like the white caps on the little waves.
