Fire 5

On my way home from church I got off the bus to walk the tram stop. and as I was near the site of the fire I decided to see how demolition work was progressing.
Debris is still piled up to the top of the 1st floor level, above which the walls have bee demolished. The fire did not spread into the end part of the building because there was a fire wall preventing its progress.

It all looks so sad doesn't it. It will be interesting to look back on these pictures when the old building has been replaced.

@susiemc Thank you Sue, it does show how devastating fire can be. Questions will be asked as to why proper fire walls, and other protections were not put in place when the conversion was taking place.
