Valley Road Park with the Day Brook running through it is a linear park beside the ring road, which gets flooded during prolonged wet weather. The brook was in a straight high sided channel. Work is being carried out to alleviate the flooding. The brook has been widened and winds through the park, there are pools and areas to catch flood waters, new trees have been planted, this part is nearly completed, work is still progressing in other parts of the park
