1950's Dishes by olivetreeann

1950's Dishes

We'll be on the road today, so I decided to post this one early. I bought these at my friend's yard sale so that Cloe and Leigh can play house and help in the kitchen. I can't remember what they called this hard plastic, but these dishes were quite popular in the 1050's and 1960's (Melamine). This particular set is missing a few pieces but they'll be perfect for make-believe. I used Picnik to change the look of the photograph; I think I like how it turned out.
Well they will find that enjoyable I'm sure. Have a safe trip

Melamine? Maybe? I think that's what they were called. And they are perfect for the girls! I like the editing here, nicely done.

Tupperware? My mom used to sell Tupperware and they had this cute little tea set I remember my mom getting me. Those were/are so durable!

@nanascraps @annaruth @kimmiesue Yes- Barbara- I think you're right. I'm writing that down so I won't forget it!! Thanks! I still have lots of Tupperware Anna- it's plastic but this is harder- almost like a thick ceramic plate. See Barbara's comment- that's the name of it. I remember that little tea set made by Tupperware- it was really cute! Thanks Kim! You'd never know it by this picture- but they're light pastel colors!

I think Barbara is right. My best friend growing up had 5 kids in her family and they used these dishes all the time. I really like the treatment you have given this composition

That's a great idea of something that will be useful for playing house. My grandparents had something like this as well.

Great processing job! Love the colors!

@photobutton Thanks so much photobutton- the color comes from the processing. You'd be surprised if saw the real colors (which aren't bad, they're just very different!).
