We have had so much rain this year some of the most incredible things have grown in our yard. This was the strangest! We discovered it yesterday behind the wood pile.

To answer your questions, I'm not quite sure what it is except that it's a mushroom. I will be posting other shots of it at some time. It looked different from every angle. It had even grown around a stick that was in its way. I have NEVER seen anything like this. Thank you all for the views- I really appreciate them!!

@sanera thank you Samantha- yes it was a mushroom. I say was because when I looked at it today, it is on its way to being totally decayed. Thank you for the fav- that's very exciting!
@bruni Thank you Bruni- yes it was absolutely fascinating! It's slowly decaying now. I don't know if we'll ever see another one like it, so I'm glad that 365 has me looking out for these wonders and shooting them when I find them.
