Santa was touring Milford on a firetruck when we left church today. He had a lovely assistant too. Boy was I surprised when they actually pulled over and posed for me!
@allie912 Thanks Allison! @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- yes I think it would! @changingtides Thanks Allie! These two were great and made it easy to get such a good shot. @karenann Thanks Karenann. I really have to give kudos to the driver, Santa and his elf. They were so friendly!
Terrific photo, Ann. Timely catch and how kind of them to pose for you. They look so authentic! I missed our neighborhood "Santa" last wk...they come without notice and they were already down the street when I ventured out.
Thanks to everyone. This picture is a poster child for the reason you should always have your camera handy. I never expected to encounter Santa on my way out of church- but there he was and it was an added bonus that they stopped to pose. Two fun facts about this shot- this was the second time Santa passed me. The first time I got my camera out, but because I had my gloves on, I couldn't get it to turn on! When I heard the truck coming a second time, the gloves were off in a flash! There were also some telephone wires running across the top of the picture which I felt was distracting. This is one of those cases where I'm so glad I've learned how to use some of those processing tools since I was able to erase them from existence and improve the shot. So thanks for all your encouraging and positive comments. They make me feel great about this picture!
@bruni I did find the discussion thread and checked out the link. It wasn't really about elf shots. The subtitle was "inappropriate elf shots" . They involved a toy elf and a couple of them were a little off color. Just not my style and this shot doesn't fit their specifications. But thanks for the suggestion- you probably thought from the title that it was a 365 thread. It's actually an off-sight contest.
