Abstract Kitchen Stuff

I don't remember whether this is a weekly theme, a general challenge, or what- I just remembered what the tag was and took the shot! Am I on challenge overload? Maybe!
Cool

@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!

Nope . . not if you're enjoying it, Ann. Beautiful abstract. The kitchen is always loaded with items to shoot. Full of macros and abstracts.

You may have C.O.S. .....Challenge Overload Syndrome. Keep an eye on that, Ann! Is this a colander by the way? Very cool results!
January 12th, 2012
Very cool...I think MayBeth could be right with the colander...

@karenann lol Karenann- enjoying yes, losing track- absolutely!!
@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth- I will definitely watch myself! Actually this is a canister with all my spatulas, wooden spoons and whisks in it. It's shot from the top looking down into the can. There are two spatulas and a whisk in this shot.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- a good guess, but incorrect- two spatulas and a wire whisk.

@olivetreeann very neat abstract!

@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth!

I have to learn to keep an eye for things like this....they make such good
postings and yet I do not learn to see that!! Thank you for the teaching!!

Great job Ann

It looks nice, especially those blue tones. Still too much for me to try: hopefully by the end of 365 I will try to do something like this:)

I love abstracts in the kitchen =) great colours..
January 12th, 2012
Cool capture! Definitely abstract! Love your processing too :)
January 12th, 2012
That is very abstract - I can't figure out what it is meant to be!
January 12th, 2012
Nice one Ann. Oh what the heck, just take a few shots of anything, and it will fit in somewhere.

Bev
Excellent job! I love the color and the vibrant white.

Cool shot
January 12th, 2012
very well done
January 12th, 2012
I think it looks so cool! does someone know what that theme is about?
January 12th, 2012
looks good,
January 12th, 2012
Cool abstract in blue.

@pulguis Thanks Pulguis. My rule of thumb is "take a look and then take another look!" Meaning look at something the way you usually look at it, and then, look at it in a different way.
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian!
@woot Thank you Davide- this is not really hard though. It's a regular picture which has been altered by processing. In this case, I inverted the picture (which made all the light things dark and all the dark things light) and then "posterized" it. Two very simple effects, but they totally change the picture.
@inertie Thanks Inertia! There are so many interesting things in the kitchen!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! The picture by itself was somewhat abstract because of the pov, but the processing just topped it off.
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- it is a shot of my spatulas, wooden spoons and wire whisks taken from overhead. I then inverted the shot and posterized it.
@digitalrn You figured me out Rick!! Thanks for the smile!
@prttblues Thanks Bev!
@steeler Thanks Howard!
@jml0306 Thank you Joseph!
@geertje Thanks Geertje! As far as I know the idea is to take a picture of a common household item and then turn it into an abstract picture.
@sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry!
@cimes1 Thanks Carole!
January 13th, 2012
Neat processing on this one.
January 13th, 2012
@jeancarl Thanks JeanCarl. Just two effects to make it look this way- inverting the picture and then adding the posterize effect.
January 13th, 2012
Ann, you always come up with such a wonderful variety of ideas. I like the posterize effect as well.
January 14th, 2012
@changingtides Thank you Allie! I really just try different things until something makes me say, "That's it!"
January 14th, 2012
I do like the effect you have created with colors and shapes. I used to diligently follow the themes, but have lost track of them for the most part.
January 14th, 2012
@allie912 Thank you Allison- I don't usually do them (the weekly ones that is) but this one suited my fancy for some reason.
January 14th, 2012
love the colors and feel of this
