Seeing this brings to mind the movie "Skeleton Key". Perhaps they unlock a mystery door that's filled with magic! Great black and white to add to the age of the keys. Nice job!
Love old keys... I have the church key in my safekeeping on a long-term temporary kind of deal. One day I'll do a shot as I just love it. (and it works!)
Wonderful shot - leaves you with all sorts of wonderings...
@alia_801 Thank you Alia! I like the way this b/w came out. @tesssa Thank you Tessa! I'm not sure where they all came from or how I got them, but I've had them for ages! @httpgeffed Thank you sooo much Colleen! That means the world to me! @sharritta Thank you Sharon. It's actually quite fun- and this is just the right amount! @kimmistephens Thank you Kimmi! I added a little of the gritty effect in Picnik and blended most of the original shot back in. I wanted to bring out the wood texture. @myautofocuslife Thanks Livia! I appreciate your view and comment! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @beachradish Thank you Beachradish! I considered a couple different backgrounds but in the end felt this old bench was the perfect setting. @prttblues Thanks Bev! Sounds like an imaginative movie! I'm not sure where I got these- that's how long I've had them! But they probably opened some interesting things!
@filsie65 That sounds like an awesome key Phil! Thanks for the comment and I'm looking forward to seeing yours! @copperheadglass Thanks Meredith! I appreciate your view and comment. I added just a bit of the gritty effect on Picnik to this shot to help bring out the texture of the wood. @paulavdmerwe Thank you Paula! @bruni Thank you Bruni! Oh I'm definitely keeping them. I've had them since my college days! I don't remember where I got them either! @karenann Thank you Karenann! I'm really pleased with this shot. Glad you like it too! @woot Thanks Davide. Yes they are antique and I think the oldest one is the one on the far right. The fat one is pretty old too. @melorac Thanks Carole! Me too- I can only guess now, but possibly a chest or two and some doors as well.
you are like the lovely chatelaine of a magnificent english castle. kind of like catherine earhshaw in wuthering heights. i love old skeleton keys, i find them romantic.
@mrssmith Thank you Carla! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @digitalrn Thanks Rick! I've been trying to remember where I got these and I do think some were from my grandmother's basement many years ago. These are keepers too! @tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja! I like to switch back and forth between b/w, color and sepia because it causes you to look more sharply at a subject.
@sangwann Thank you Dione! I have that key that opens the pearly gates! His name is Jesus (o: I loved your comment! @la_photographic Thank you Laura! @peterdegraaff Thank you Peter! That is one of my two favorites. It's so old the handle part is worn thin. @steeler Thank you sooo much Howard!! I'm honored! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! I love them too- so many stories they could tell of who held them and what they were for.
