Thank you Lisa, Kerri, Alia, Phil, Dione, Jennifer, Rick and Rachel! I had about 20 shots of this fellow with 3 or 4 in contention to be posted. You would not believe how many times I went back and forth between them! I really couldn't make up my mind. Two were more abstract but I finally decided to go with a shot that showed the whole cup. I'm glad you responded so positively to this shot. Now I can stop second guessing myself!
@automaticslim Thank you Andy! I keep forgetting to tag these for your EOTB challenge! I just went back in and changed this one before. I think I have to put a brighter sticky note on my computer! This cup is really old. It came with Jeff when we got married and I have no clue where he got it from. There's a name for this kind of plastic here in the States and for the life of me I can never remember the name of it, but collectors love the stuff. Since it's already a nice charcoal gray, I thought it would make a nice b/w subject.
The first thought that came to mind was "my cup runneth over." Don't mind me....I can get so silly at times :-) Really good lighting and shadows...nicely done, Ann.
@automaticslim No, it's translucent but after spending 20 minutes going through both my albums from the day I started until now, I finally found the date where someone told me the name of it! Melamine. I've got a few pieces from an old set for playing with the granddaughter and I'd taken a shot of them on 7/14/2011. I've actually taken a couple shots of them but that was the one where it was correctly identified for me. Will I remember this now? Probably not! I seem to have a mental block on this name.
Love the tight crop! I'm saying goodbye for now, thank you for the time together on this project. I always liked your comments, they're always so thoughtful. I love how we can share stuff about our faith and I wish you all the best.
@geertje I will miss you Geertje!! Can I ask why you're leaving? I'm always praying for your health, so I hope it's not that but just a needed break. As one of my earlier followers, I've always had a special spot for you and seeing your beautiful pictures were a way for me to visit the land of my ancestors the Voncovenhovens (it's a mouthful!!). Thank you for all your support on 365- you've been a blessing!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! You would not believe how many shots I took of this silly cup! And then I couldn't make up my mind which would be the best to post. I was really second guessing myself and then just decided to go for it with this one. I'm glad it's gotten such positive feedback.
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole. Sometimes with these simple shots I'm so hard on myself. I must have taken 20 shots of this cup until I finally thought of a way someone may not have photographed it before!
@summerfield Thank you Vikki! I would pour water on my kitchen counter, but not this- it's the marble top of a beautiful piece my father refinished. I'm not sure whether to call it a dresser or chest or side board, but I'd be afraid I would damage it if water somehow got underneath the marble top. There is a crack that runs through it but I don't know how deep it goes and what could seep through. But that's a good idea.

@cimes1 Thank you Carole- I don't mind that at all- it's from Ps. 23, the world's most beloved psalm!
