I had an unexpected invitation today. One of my friends called from the camera club and said she and her husband were driving into NJ to photograph a field of sunflowers and would I like to come along? After taking almost 200 photos (and certainly not keeping even half of that!) I got out of the sun and went to the visitor's tent. I got to talking with the owner of the maze about photography and how fun it is. He told me about a picture of the sunflowers that had published in the newspaper which really surprised him. Knowing that his farm is quite flat he was surprised to see that this picture showed his field with a hill and he knew that didn't exist. Turns out the photographer had used a fish-eye lens. Well, what do you know?! My new camera has that feature built in and I just used it. He requested that I post the shot on their facebook page, so since I was putting it together for fb, I thought I might as well as post here too!
great shot!!! i keep seeing sunflowers everywhere in large groups...but they're always in a place where it is impossible to get to safely while driving! haha.
