We had a whole foot of snow dropped on our backyard while we slept! It really looked so pretty this morning. Then the sun came out and melted half of it away! Had some fun playing around with the fish-eye effect in my camera. The camera store is sponsoring a competition in our camera club where we are supposed to take a macro shot using a wide angle lens (or something to that effect). I'm still struggling to figure out exactly what they are expecting to see but in the meantime I've been playing around with different ideas and maybe I'll just submit one of them anyway! I really liked the contrast in this shot and I also liked what the fish-eye did to the trees!
@fullcircle Thanks Cindy! No, it's built into my camera under a setting called "Image Effects/Creative Filters". It has a number of effects or lenses in this mode: fish-eye, toy camera, posterize, and color swap (sort of like a pre-programmed selective coloring) to name a few. It's a fun thing to switch off to every once and a while.
This is awesome!!! I like how the trees meet each other at the tops! Fantastic in B/W and a great idea to try!.
I have used a wide angle lens to take macro photos and they just look like macros once you crop them!! Maybe they don't want you to crop them, but then it looks like a wide angle!! LOL Got me!! FAV!
Thank you so much for this shot Ann. For the first time I can really see and understand what the fish eye lens does. I love the contrasts in the picture
@nicolecampbell hehe Don't worry Nicole- it's the processing! @digitalrn Thanks Rick! It's a fun application in the camera. I think that way too sometimes, but I don't want to go unless my family is with me!
It looks like it belongs in a storybook! So neat to hear you're trying out your creative filters settings. I noticed those, too, but have yet to try them...So inspiring to see your wonderful shot!
@prttblues Thank you Bev! @gratefulness Thank you Sandi! They are fun to play around with. @yolanda Thanks Yolanda! The camera does all the work so it makes it quite easy to play around with it.
