Resurrection! by olivetreeann

Resurrection!

Buried
in the ground
surrounded by the dark
waiting
the light calls you forth
you push
you reach
and soon your yellow blossoms will proclaim the resurrection

Buried
in the tomb
surrounded by the dark
waiting
The Light calls you forth
You push
You reach
And all creation mirrors the joyous cry

Resurrection!

Thank you all for the nice compliments on the poem. Sometimes these things come to me! I had a bit of a scare with this one though- I was posting late and my eyes were getting heavy. I was down to the last two lines and closed my eyes to envision where the poem should go and nodded off!! In the process, my fingers landed on the back space button. Yes, I erased the whole poem!! After a moment of panic when I realized I could not "undo" what I'd done, I realized I might be able to remember what I'd written if I really thought about it. Thankfully I was able to remember it and in the process figure out the best way to finish the second stanza too. Phew! That was a close one!

So appropriate for the season. Lovely poem...did you write it?
April 7th, 2015
@cimes1 Thank you Carole! Yes, I did.
April 8th, 2015
He is risen, just like He said. Quickly now, go to the disciples, Jesus CHRIST is no longer dead...from a Keith Green song.
April 12th, 2015
@creativeaddict Thank you Laur! Actually I think it's from Easter Song by the Second Chapter of Acts. But Keith Green is good too!! Oh, and Amen!
April 12th, 2015
Second Chapter of Acts has some great stuff.
April 12th, 2015
Beautiful photo, but you are talented for words, too.
April 13th, 2015
@vesna0210 Thank you very much Vesna! I cannot sit down and write a poem as a true poet does. If the words come into my head I have to put them down right away- otherwise they come and go. I thought of the word "resurrection" when I took the picture and the poem flowed out when I posted it. But if they hadn't come, there would be no poem here! Thank you for your confidence in me!
