A photo club friend and I went out shooting today. Our first stop was a goat farm, but after that he suggested we check out a few of his favorite spots to capture eagles on their nests. He got no argument from me as that's one of the pictures I've always wanted to take! We were in luck. The first site produced a couple who appeared to be watching the nest intently. It looks like they have a brood in there. We couldn't get too close to shoot them but it was so exciting. The second stop proved to be a lot more photogenic and we weren't disappointed there either. This handsome fellow was perched at the end of this branch and although the sky was more gray than blue he still stood out quite nicely against it. What a bonus to click the shutter just as a swallow passed by!

I "lucked out" with that swallow but I agree it is what makes the shot!
