Red-Winged Black Bird in the Field

I took this shot on the same day I took the Eagle and Oriole shots I recently posted. His dark black body with those bold yellow and red wing stripes was the perfect foil to the green grasses in the background. But the big question of the day: How does a bird that big sit on such a thin branch and not weigh it down?!
