My Budding Photographers

We've been visiting my son and his family in Kentucky over Labor Day. It was a great visit! I was taking some pictures of the boys on Monday morning and they asked if they could take a picture with my camera. Since I had all my cameras with me (long story on that!), I decided to throw caution to the wind (a 4 and 6 year old with a "grown-up" camera certainly keeps you on your toes) and let them take a few shots. They first surprised me by really taking great care of the cameras- Micah wrapped the strap around his wrist and Isaac put the camera around his neck- and then by how they thoughtfully took their pictures! I see some future 365ers here!
oh my goodness! look at their individual stance. budding photogs, indeed! they're all grown up, too. wasn't it just a few years ago when you took micah's baby pic? see, they observe and see how you hold your cameras so they'd know how to take care of them. bravo, ann!

Love their postures and concentration--the photo really tells a story. So neat that you are giving them a chance to use your grown-up cameras--and that they took such good care of them. I think it's so important to give children the chance to create.

They have learnt a lot from watching you over the years. This is a wonderful capture of the budding photographers.

I bet they enjoy following you around when you shoot. That's how I got started -- following my award winning amateur photographer Dad when he was taking photos.. I got started at about their ages.

Great age to get them interested Ann, but maybe buy them their own camera in case of breakage!!

Thank you to one and all for making this proud Grammy feel even better! Yes, I loved the way they were standing to get the shot- so cute! Isaac does have a child's camera (not as nice as the one I got my other grandson Sam, but it's good for starters) and he did use it that morning as well. I took some of their pics to the camera store and am having them printed on foam board so they will be able to hang them in their playroom. I wish I could be there when they open them up. Maybe I'll ask Betsy to call me on Skype so I can watch that way.

@summerfield You have an excellent memory!! It's been 4 years since that shot. Time does fly! Thanks so much for the fav!

lovely to see the children so interested in photography and that you were brave enough to let the use grownup cameras. I am sure they will be very excited to see the printed results
