I had plans to write something pithy about all the whining and complaining I hear about "the state of this country", but if I do I'll sound just as bad as they do.
Instead I think I'll just let our flag speak for itself.
Great tribute. USA is a beautiful country. Of course I don't live there but I visit as often as I can. I have never had a bad vacation or been to a place I have not liked. Of course some places are better than others but I love crossing the boarder and visiting.
@louannwarren Thank you Lou Ann and thank you so much for the fav!
@littleconnie Thank you Connie! @k1w1 Thank you k1w1! I'm glad you enjoy visiting here. What you see on tv and in the news is really not how most Americans are or the way they live. Most people, even if they disagree on some issues, really just want to live peacefully with one another and get along by keeping the main thing the main thing. Most of us just wish the nay-sayers would keep it to themselves! @grammyn Thank you Katy! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole- the timing was just right and I was stopped at a traffic light! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @henrir Thank you Henri! @wendyfrost Thank you Wendy!
Thanks again to everyone! When I see the news and the negativity that the media seems to be drawn to, it's just down-right depressing. But then, something will happen that makes me realize that most people are really nice and are more interested in doing something positive for their community. In fact, I'm hearing more and more that many of the people who complain the loudest are being PAID to do that. I want to say to them, "Why don't you take that complaint to Iran and see how long your head stays attached."
@olivetreeann I never believe what I see on TV or what I read in the news. Yep there is some not go good stuff in the US but there is some not so good stuff in every country. I don't go looking for that. I go looking for the good stuff and the nice people and I have found LOTS of both
Beautiful tribute shot, Ann. The recent hurricanes, while disastrous, have shown again how many good people there are and how we all CAN work together (well, maybe not Congress. . . .)
@k1w1 Absolutely! @eudora Thanks Diane- yes, I think so too. And there's no excuse for Congress now- except that since they are exempt from all the laws they pass, they don't even care what happens to us.
