your wonderful cavern pictures remind me of a three week vacation trip we took quite a few years back. we drove to West Virginia for the first week. there we visited the Smoke Hole Caverns. photography was allowed and I took many pictures of the amazing Stalactites and Stalagmites. the second week we had booked in Virginia at a resort in the town of Richmond. a beautiful city with lots of interesting sites. from there all the way to Rhode Island for another week and then back home.
I think it was shortly after I joined 365 .

@rookynook Wow- thank you! @bruni Sounds like a great trip. I know W Va has a lot of caves- it's also got a lot of mines which when exhausted also leave a lot of "holes" in the earth! @fbailey I did too, but we were asked not to as the oils in our hands do effect the composition of the rocks.
