The second bridge on our tour was the Manasses Guth Bridge. The original bridge was built in 1858 but it was partially destroyed by fire and then rebuilt in 1882.
What an amazing bridge! Oh that red! I am curious though, it’s hard for me to believe that a Andy Apple Red was a historical color?! I helped develop the design criteria for the historical district I lived in at one time. Oh the protracted “discussions” we had to endure when it came to historical color designations!
Thank you to one and all and apologies for this blanket response. Another death and a week end combined with funeral and photo club duties has me behind once again!
Thanks to those who fav'd this!
@louannwarren It was difficult to keep the colors in balance when post-processing. True to a cloudy day gray day the colors were a bit more vibrant but in order to make the sky a little more palatable, the accuracy of the bridge and grass colors were diminished- that is to say, they are more vibrant than reality but not to the extreme of hdr. Good call on the historic factor!
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! These structures have all but disappeared from the American landscape in that they don't build them anymore. But thankfully many have been preserved.
