Miss Ann told us that this is called "Shape Note Music" because as you can see, some of the notes look a little different!

@randystreat My husband wants to know what church you go to. We'd love to find a church the has Sacred Harp when we visit our son in KY.

@olivetreeann Ann, I live in NC. I attend a Presbyterian church. Our choir director is also a music professor and accomplished organist. I think it's because of him that we sang those hymns. I looked it up and apparently there are "singings" scheduled in various states at various times. Perhpas you might find something along the way or a little closer to home.

@randystreat I have heard of the "singings" and I think if we're ever visiting for an extended period of time, it's something we'd definitely try to find.
