I keep shooing them out of the strawberries Daisy and I planted. Too bad you don’t have Dr Doolittle to talk to the pushme pullyou and explain the boundaries
@sandrajo the real critter she referenced is more a llama with a head on each end and no butt. I loved kiddy lit. As a kidling and kept finding more to love as a teacher and grandma
@pandorasecho Even the fawns have made my front gardens look awful this year. Next year I'm either digging up the plants and giving them to someone who'll be able to grow them or putting up a barrier. We live next to woods with lots of plants they naturally eat. I think they just like annoying me!
@onewing No, they're just lazy. Why should they forage when the feeder's right there. And the garden's nice to munch on too! (It doesn't help that my neighbor feeds them.)
@sangwann I could bring them over to your garden and see what happens when we turn them loose in there- see the tag! LOL It's easy to shoo them away if you don't want to be buying birdseed every other day as they can clear it out in about 5 minutes!
@maggiemae@wendyfrost If I had had food in my hands, I probably could have walked right up to them and fed them. But that is the worst thing you can do as their stomachs do not process food like ours do. These two were mostly curious about me and my camera but the did move away once I lifted it to my face.
Thank you Kathy, Sandi, Brian, Joan, Katy, Marilyn, Kerri, Henri, Ferry and Kathy! Yes, the lighting was tailor made for them- late afternoon sun/golden hour and fawns with their spots still- a great combo.
@robz Thanks Rob- yes they can eat down all the plants in no-time. They also defoliate trees. When we first moved here I enjoyed seeing them in the woods, but now I've had enough of them!
@eudora Thanks Diane- they have totally decimated all of my gardens this year (thanks to my neighbor feeding them and in spite of all the spraying I did).
@gardenfolk Thank you CC! And thanks for the fav too!
