Let me start off my latest post by thanking many of you for your well-wishes and thoughtfulness. You did not know the extent of what was wrong but you did know I was sick.
Yes, I was sick- very sick- to the point where I was not expected to come home from the hospital- ever.
On Easter Sunday, after several days of labored breathing, I told Jeff it was time for me to go to the ER. We thought I had pneumonia or a severe case of bronchitis. We were wrong. What I did have was the worst case of Covid 19 seen here as of yet. I also had pneumonia and a few days later developed a bronchial infection- which thankfully cleared up quickly. But back to the Covid- it was so bad I was immediately sedated and put on the ventilator. No one in our hospital has survived when taken off the ventilator. Hubby Jeff was beside himself- but I had no clue. I was sedated for 9 days. When it was decided to take me off the ventilator there was not much hope because everyone else that they've done this to has died but it's the only treatment so far.
Many of you know I am a person of strong Christian faith. There were literally hundreds of people praying for me around the world and I believe the Lord heard those prayers for healing because when I should have died, He breathed life back into me. I successfully came off the ventilator without incident and was given a breathing mask. (And I thought those face masks were uncomfortable!)
However I knew I needed to keep it on- so I did. And amazingly- thanks to all those prayers for my healing- I continued to improve. After the breathing mask I had an oxygen tube going up into my nose (which I had to mentally ignore!) but I continued to improve.
I was finally taken out of the ICU and put on a regular floor 10 days after I was admitted to the hospital. 3 days later I was allowed to go home! Recovering from this kind of severe form of Covid is unheard of. I am a walking miracle- but I have always believed in the power of prayer and this is what I believe was the key to my rapid improvement.
At one point I asked Jeff to bring me a few things. As far as I know he doesn't know Piggy is my little pink muse but he grabbed her, wrote this note, and put her in the bag of stuff he brought me. I would look at Piggy every day and just smile.
So where has Miss Ann been? Almost to death and back- but the Lord has decided my time is not finished yet. And I'm HOME!!
Ann we had no idea what you went through. Praise the Lord .He does answer prayers. So glad to here this report. Thank you for sharing this testimony . With your permission could we share this on our FB page as this really spoke to us
Oh, Ann! So relieved that you are on the miracle list!!! What a n ordeal! This virus is miserably unforgiving. Welcome back! From a long and arduous journey...❤
oh, ann. sorry to hear this, but am i ever so glad you have beat the odds. no, it wasn't your time yet, madame. you're to stay for a long time here on earth. remember the grands! the grands need to grow up with the love of their nona. welcome home and welcome back. keep healing!
Ann, I adore you and am so glad that you made it home. One of they ways God has blessed my life is by giving me friends from online who still become real friends in my world and your friendship has brightened my world in a very richly textured black and white way.
It was so good of you to write all this - like you said, knew you were missing and hadn't been feeling well. So glad you felt the many prayers that I know were coming your way. Glad to know you're the miracle girls. Continued good recovery.
So, so glad you made it. Corrie was keeping us appraised of how you were doing. Our whole club here in CA was praying for you. Did you have to come home with the oxygen tube? I am so sick of mine, but at the same time grateful. As for your photo....you even processed it. Love to see that.
OMG! What a tale of our times and so hard to read it knowing this is something I "know" even if we've never met. Take good care of yourself, get back to normal, stay healthy. All the best!
Oh Ann I am so sorry to hear your news but so good you are on the mend. I have been absent for a few days and am at the surgery at the moment. Wishing you well in your journey back to full health. Take care. Thinking of you
Omw Ann, you have made a most remarkable recovery, thank the Lord for that! Hope you continue to get better and that your nightmare will soon be forgotten. So happy to see Piggy again and that we were able to smile, continue doing so :-)
So happy to see Piggy again!!! I had a feeling you were quite ill, and have been looking for a post every day and sending up a prayer every day. Here's to your continued recovery!
Good Lord! I had absolutely NO idea, but I am so glad that you are back with us again. So happy to see you and Piggy appear in this post. Stay well, and make sure you don't overdo things! x
oh Ann - I did know you were missing, but had no idea. I wish there was a way to make real connections built into this site. I'm so glad you are on the mend. the universe is pulling for you, whatever concept of spirituality. hugs from Australia, I'm feeling the tears come
So sorry for your ordeal and happy you survived. I am glad you were sedated when you went on the ventilator because I am sure that would be very frightening. Take care.
Like others I had no idea you were so very sick. Thanks be to God for your recovery and continuing healing. Looking forward to seeing your photos again once you are up to posting.
OMG what a scare for you but especially your family! A miracle indeed! So pleased you are home again but take it easy and look after yourself. Sending you lots of love and prayers for a speedy full recovery xx
So glad you are on the road to recovery. What an extremely scary situation. We don’t know each other in person but I was worried about you.
Big hugs to you and your family.
Your pig is a treasure :)
I love my 365 family! And I missed being able to communicate with all of you for such a long time- but I'm back now and will slowly get into a rhythm again. There are more lessons to come from this experience but right now I am thankful to see another day (especially for those grands Vikki!) and am not fearful. If I can have the worst case here and survive, I believe that both the medical professions and God Himself are what bring healing. Especially prayer!
Thank you soooooo much for loving and warm well-wishes! They are another piece of the healing "puzzle" and I greatly appreciate them.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness! In some ways, yes, because of the magnitude Covid can be scary but in many ways I am no longer afraid now. I will have to be careful for quite some time until my strength returns but it's all good!
Oh Ann, you have been through an ordeal. I'm sure that it was an extremely trying time for Jeff, your boys and their families. So glad to know that you are home and on the mend.
How amazing that Jeff brought you Miss Piggy for company in the hospital. Take care of yourself and allow your body to heal. Sending you a big hug
I have never been involved in an online community except for the time I was studying at Leeds university. Athough I do not know you Ann, except for the little glimpses we see of each other through our shared photos, I kept you in my daily prayers. The All Mighty hears our prayers and is actively working to continue his healing process. I am glad you got through the ordeal. Thanks be to God.
I thought I hadn’t seen anything from you, but you just kind of carry on. Sorry to hear that you have been so unwell! Glad you’ve come out the other side!
Wow, this is very intense, so the disease is very close. Fortunately, all prayers have been answered and, after a fierce battle, you survived. Miracles still happen. I'm convinced of that . That shows now again. A lesson also for all of us. There is no guarantee on life. It may be too late tomorrow.
Are congratulations in order here? Or just gratitude. Or both . Celebrate it as the new beginning. It teached me too.
So pleased you are on the road to recovery Ann I have been thinking of you and Jeff as the days went by and it was lovely and a relief to see your message today. Thinking of you and may you continue to heal over the coming weeks.X
Oh Ann. Hallelujah to your recovery. It is always a worry when someone goes missing unannounced on 365, but unfortunately i have been so wrapped up in events in my own life that I hadnt even noticed you missing as I have not been keeping up. Prayer coninues for you - that you will not suffer from long COVID. Take things easy on the road to full recovery. So pleased to have you back.
Thank you Ferry, Wendy, Kerri, Kathy, Helen and Haskar for your well-wishes and thoughtful care. I am taking it slow and enjoying every breath! I am also so glad to be back on 365!
Thanks for the update. I have been so worried about you! So glad you are OK. Yours is a wonderful story of faith, will and strength. Continue getting better!
Oh my goodness, that's quite a scary story! I remember seeing that you had tested positive but had no idea how bad it had gotten. Frightening disease. Were you vaccinated before this happened?
Oh Ann - I just read this and I am so glad to hear that you have recovered from such a bad case of Covid. So wonderful to hear that you are home again. All my best wishes for your continued improvement. :)
Thank you Diane, Vesna, Margonaut and Rob! I am well on my mending ways- it will take time- but I'll be back to my full strength at some point. I truly appreciate your kind words and get well thoughts!
I have not been on here recently but something brought me to 365 today. I am so sorry to hear you have been so sick. But what a miracle you are ok. Great news!! I hope you are able to make a full recovery and continue to feel good. Sending much love!
Thank you Myrna, CC and Mallory! I am feeling a little stronger each day but it is going to take some time. However, I am just so glad to be home and also to be back on 365! I truly appreciate your well-wishes and prayers.
I can't imagine all you and the family have gone through this last month. It's still so hard to believe people are still getting so sick from cov-id. Praying you have a full recovery.
@lesip Thank you Leslie. I am doing really well. I'm slowly gaining muscle strength back and trying to be patient with myself while that's happening. Every day I look up through the windows in my cathedral ceiling and thank God that He brought me home. Thank you for your prayers! My journey has a bit of a ways to go until I'm back to full strength.
Oh my! I just now became aware of your severe illness and miraculous recovery! I will certainly add my prayers to those of the many others for your complete recovery. I, too, believe in the power of prayer; and I praise God for the miracle He performed for you. Thank you for sharing your story and glorifying Him with it!
@janetb Thank you Janet- I know we are sisters in Christ and I truly appreciate your prayers on my behalf. Always feel free to let me know if I can pray for you too! My recovery is truly the Lord's handiwork. To go from death's door to home in 13 days can only be from God- but then I know you know that!
Big hugs to you and your family.
