I saw two beautiful sunsets while in MIchigan. While I was capturing this shot, a Great Blue Heron soared across the frame. Although you can see his distinctive shape, it's imposible to capture something like that more closely with my camera. Nonetheless, the sky was so striking, it was worth keeping the shot and posting it here.
If you had gotten any closer to the heron, you wouldn't have seen all the wonderful expanse of sky. I like the subtlety of having to identify the heron by its silhouette.
@allie912@jmj@httpgeffed@sarasdadandmom@sanera@kerristephens Thank you Allison, Jennifer, Colleen, Sara's Dad (tell me your name sometime!!), Samantha and Kerri. I so appreciate your enthusiastic comments. It was such a beautiful sunset and I wished the weather had held out for more- although I'm not sure my camera card would have had room for all the pictures!!
@rogley8 Thanks Richard! @cimes1 Thank you Carole- they are hard to catch. This one just flew into the picture- a happy coincidence. @roejan Thanks Roe Jan!
