Old

This lovely little angel is one of the oldest Christmas decorations I have. She belonged to my mother's parents. When my aunt and I were closing up the house after my grandmother died, she encouraged me to bring her home along with a few other Christmas trinkets. When I pick her up, I'm always surprised that she's still holding together because she's made of plaster of paris which isn't that durable. Sometimes we hear the word old and think "out-dated". Sometimes we hear the word old and think "wrinkled". Sometimes the word old makes us think of the passage of time. This time the word old made me think of a little treasure that ties me to my past and gives me hope for my own future. When I get old, I hope I'm still holding together too!
What a great treasure and beautiful photo to keep it closer. Wonderful Ann

She's a beautiful reminder and a tie to your past . . what a blessing that is, Ann. I have two things of my grandmothers and treasure them like you do this.

@alia_801 Thank you Alia! When I inherited her, I wondered if I'd played with her when I was little- she definitely looks like some little children may have thought she was a toy at one time or another!
