It's hard to believe that there are two busy roads merely yards from these falls, but there are! That pretty stone bridge is just to the right of them and behind me to my right is a large mid-century hotel-like building now used for conferences and business. I find it so interesting that pictures can open up the world to us and at the same time limit what we actually see.
It's a beautiful world out there. So many people go to fast throughout life and never really pause to look at the world that's right in front of them. Great picture to show the beauty in the world.
Thank you everyone. I wish you could stop by for a picnic by the falls! We'd have a lot of fun sharing photography stories and enjoying their lovely sound! We'll have to use our imagination for that- but I do appreciate all your great comments! Just wanted to take a moment to say so.
That is one of the things I'm finding fascinating - and frustrating. Herons next to Hardees, The interstate behind me as I watch an Osprey, taking a lovely long distance beach shot and then seeing I got the water tower in it. Lovely bright yellow and red reflections in the pond - a beat up shed and a child's slide. I like that it is all right here with me, in easy reach. I'm getting darn tired of editing out the Hardees.
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen- I wasn't sure if you were saying you really couldn't see the picture, or that you couldn't see all the things just outside the shot. There was a short time where it was showing only half of the shot in the thumbnail. Maybe it was just slow to upload. Sorry 'bout that. @prttblues Thanks Bev- that would be easy to do. Waterfalls, like fish tanks and fires are mesmerizing. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi! @dmariewms Thank you Marie. Yes, I did have to make sure I stood at the right spot because there was some kind of roof in the upper left of the picture that was a little distracting. I guess when it comes to Hardees, you can either leave it there as part of the shot, or continue to edit. It could be a creative challenge, or a pain and I guess that depends on how patient you feel like being on any given day when you shoot there! As for me, if I can clone it out, I will. But if cloning doesn't work, I'll try a different angle.
it conveys calmness and peace; even when the running water looks fast and frenzied, it fortuitously ends in a lovely pool of stillness and quietude. i love the splash of contrasting colours on either side of the photo. great shot. must go back for the full-foliage version of the shot. :-)
nice view.. I have always felt the same about photographies and also about annotations.. you can take a pinch of the real think and it comes out so different.. from the whole..=)
@pandorasecho Thank you Dixie- it's a very pretty sound.
@httpgeffed Thanks? Colleen!
@mrssmith Thanks Carla!
@filsie65 Thanks Phil!
@annaluceya Thanks you Anna!
