We had a really interesting log on the fire last night- one with a big whole from a knot that is no longer there, so the entire log was engulfed in flame.
I can't imagine having a fire at the moment, it was so hot today and I spent most of the day in the kitchen! We even bought a pool today for the girls to cool off in.
We are finally getting some cooler temps so will probably light my first fire in over a year in our fireplace. Will be a good photo op if that happens ;-) Terrific capture, Ann.
Thank you Maggie, Damon, Alia, Dione, Kelsi, Carole, Rick, Nicole and Carla! We do love our wood stove for that very reason- you can stare at the fire all day and it keeps us so cozy and warm. But yes Nicole, not all parts of the world would want to be near it today! If there was a way for you to send some of that outdoor warmth over here, believe me I'd take it! My joints are reacting much worse to the cold this year!
