I was experimenting with over exposure again today. I loved the way the sunshine was mimicked in the petals of this Coneflower. Added the Orton effect to give it that soft focus.
I like the effects but especially the perspective. Thank you...for your wonderful comments...and thinking of me. Your prayers are helping. I'd like to be that butterfly.
@taffy Thank you Taffy! @twr Thank you Timothy! @summerfield Thank you Vikki! Not sure I did, but I do now. @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! It probably is! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @salza Thank you Sally! @alia_801 Thank you Alia! @Cheesebiscuit Thank you Mr. Biscuit! So glad you liked it! @carolinedreams Thank you Caroline! @dakotaburns Thank you Donald! @henrir Thank you Henri! @mrssmith203 Thank you Carla! I think you are the butterfly. Maybe you are in the cocoon right now, and when the "door" opens, you will know it's time to fly. @daisy Thank you Kathryn!
Great shot, Ann! :) How do you get this angle? Do you get on the ground? I wouldn't dare lay on the ground here!! Love the POV/angle and the detail and the way the light hits it. Nice job! :)
@prttblues Thanks Bev! No, I can't lay on the ground. It's really hard for me to get up and down with my arthritis so I avoid it if I can. Most of the time I either place the camera on the ground, or, in the case of this picture, I just held it underneath, making sure I wasn't in the frame. If I press my shutter down half way, the camera sends out a little red beam and I use that as a guide in where I place the camera.
@prttblues Any time you see a shot like this- or one where the camera seems to be sitting on the ground- it is! Or I've stooped low and shot upwards. I can get down, but it is so hard for me- and in public, quite embarrassing. So, I've created a method that gets me close to what I want to shoot. If I'm forced to, I can get down, but why go to all the trouble, if you don't have to?
Just wanted to say thanks to you for fav'ing this shot! And thank you Mr. Biscuit for the nod on the favorite fav of the week discussion! I've really fallen in love with over-exposed shots thanks to a few experts here on 365- but I don't want to get in the habit of doing them all the time so, I try to pick and choose carefully. I must say, this one is one of my favorites too.
Thank you Dixie, Ana, Sarah, Brian, Rick, and Judith!
And thank you to those who fav'd it. I don't know who you are right now, but your names will show up in my email tomorrow. But I'll thank you now!
