Four and a Half Bolts

And a handle too! Another shot from my visit to Grey Towers. I had a really bright spot from the sunlight on the doors and spent way too much time today trying to remove it. I don't think I was all that successful, but I really liked this composition!
I wouldn't know there was a sunlight spot on this timber! Did you clone it out? Grey Towers is a great name!

@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! I can still see it- right as rain! But I know where it was, so I guess I successfully disguised it! I used an oil-painting effect and a couple other things trying to darken it. I used to tackle these problems in Ribbet. Their cloning tool was so easy. But they're not free anymore and too expensive now for what little I would use it for. Anyway- if you look to the right side of the picture above the last 21/2 bolts, that's where it was/is.

Grey Towers is the name of the home built by Gifford Pinchot, former governor of Pennsylvania and conservationist during the presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. You can read more about it here: http://www.fs.fed.us/gt/

Hmmmm...I seem to see five and a half bolts. Exquisite texture and composition make this another fav for me!

Well spotted, nice texture. I think you have successfully disguised the sun spot.

Pam
Great textures, and tones. Maybe leave the sunlight spot, and process in B&W?

Sometimes one just gets into that sort of thing. I find that it serves best to implant better awareness of bright spots when actually taking the picture! Having trouble with the bolt count...and feel like I'm missing a joke! (Oh and, nice picture)

@aikimomm @francoise LOL I forgot to count the bolt to the left of the handle!!

@kerristephens @aikimomm @salza @dibzgreasley @pammerritt @francoise @allie912 @pyrrhula @thresheg

Thank you Kerri, Phoebe, Sally, Debs, Pam, Francoise, Allison, Pyrrhula, and Graham!

@pammerritt I did try to process it in b/w but the sunspot was even more evident that way. It was better to leave it in color. But I thought that too- that the b/w would disguise it better.
