Decisions, Decisions! by olivetreeann

Decisions, Decisions!

So, here it is- my last and final dilemma concerning this Scavenger Hunt which is being held between our photo club and another club nearby. One of the topics was "action". I have no idea whether they were expecting a panning action shot or stop action as no further criteria was listed. We are only allowed to do some very minor post-processing (whatever would be possible in a dark room), so this has made it a little confusing for me. Last week I thought I would use this photo:

But when I was photographing the bakery at Apple Ridge Farm today I was struck by the hands of one of the bakers as she kneaded the bread. I am leaning towards the last one as one hand is slightly blurry from the movement. But I like the position of the hands in the other two.

So what do you think? Stick with the roller skating? Or go with one of the kneading shots- and which one?

You were a big help on the "Industrial" shot so I know you'll be a big help here too!
I really like the bottom image Ann. It shows her working and with the dough in the background, you can see what she is making. it is a different action shot and I think it is alway good to be creative and step outside the box.

My first thought was to go with the bottom one but the more I look I find that I'm also drawn to the top one. I see a heart shape in the flour on the board below her hands. I would go with one of these rather than the skater.

These work well together, but the skating shot is that one that says 'action' to me.
Of these, I like the composition of the last one best, with the dough on the tray too.

I think either the top or bottom one. I agree its a good idea to go with something out of the ordinary

I like the bottom one best it tells the story and still has action. Alrhough I do like the skaters too .

Love how this one tells a story. Great shot.

Love the collage the best. It tells the story of the working .

It was hard to look at them without the collage. I'm with the last one. Not only is it clearly in mid-action, but the lighting is really pleasant

As much as I would like to say the top one, because I am partial to hearts, I think the bottom one with the little piles of dough suggest action done or to be taken as well as the actual action of the kneading shown by the blurry hand. The skater doesn't look to be really skating so go with the out of the box.

@nicolecampbell @salza @cruiser @alia_801 @wendyfrost @altadc @pyrrhula @francoise @grammyn

Thank you Nicole, Sally, Chris, Alia, Wendy, Alta, Ferry, Francoise, and Katy! Your feedback is so helpful as I'm always second guessing myself when it comes to things like this! So out of the box I will go and submit picture #3.

well done, picture 3 is best. I agree.
Looking at the photos, picture 3 shows the most action with story. Whilst the other 2 on their own, can be a bit lost.

Thank you Nina and Suse! As you can see from above I decided to go with number 3, but I do like all of them equally- for different reasons.
