This week's assignment was to "take a compelling picture and post it sooc". No edits, no cheating! SOOC no problem! Compelling? It's winter, it's cold and it's looking pretty gray around here. So I went down to the Bushkill boat launch to see if there was anything that might fit the bill. The dictionary defined compelling as 1) urgently requiring attention and 2) thoroughly forceful. I'm pretty sure this photo does not fit the definition in the dictionary- but I think when it comes to a picture compelling can also mean it makes you look closely!
At the end of the 52 week challenge we get to edit the photo we chose this week, and I'm looking forward to playing with this one.
Well it sure made me look closely....had to look twice to get my bearings, thought the photo was upside down...lol Amazing reflections & boy does it look cold - so you've captured that side of it well too.
This image has compelling written all over it. I just keep looking and looking. Good for you having the eyes to see and appreciate those beautiful reflections and then create an image that draws us in, makes us think, and inspires us to try creative compositions like this. Well done!
Wow- thank you soooo much for those encouraging comments and favs. I'm not second guessing myself anymore! Thank you for putting this on the PP. Funny how you get used to post processing and almost hate stepping out of that comfort zone to post sooc. But as some of you noted it really made me look closely when I went to compose the shot- hence the crop and the focus on the reflection rather than the ice in the foreground or the land on the other side of the river.
I've had a busy week, so I'm behind in viewing your shots, but I promise to catch up tomorrow!
@grammyn Thank you Katy! I don't know about excel, but it does make you think more specifically about what you're photographing since you can't doctor it afterwards.
