I had pulled into the driveway last week and was surprised to see a Tufted Titmouse descend into the hollow of a dead tree that's in our front yard. That called for some investigation! And sure enough she's got a nest in there. It's been a few days, so I'll have to go check on the nest and see if anyone's hatched yet. I had to shine a flash light in there to get this shot and it stresses her out a bit, so I've tried to stay clear- tempting as it has been to check in daily! Unfortunately the light washes out the egg(s).

Thank you Kathy, Denise, Helen, and Katy! I checked this afternoon and the babies are born! There are 5 of them and since Mama wasn't around, I did try to take a few shots. The picture's not really that good, but I'll probably post it in a day or two. I've just gotten word we'll be heading down to KY tomorrow and not on Friday so tonight is going to be hectic!
