Last week after reading about the Eclipse on line I decided the best way I could view it and photograph it was to capture the shadows. So I made a pinhole viewer which worked quite well for viewing, not so much for photographing though. I did get an actual glimpse of the eclipse thanks to my neighbor who leant me her glasses for a few moments.
It took my eyes a few moments to find the eclipse amongst the shadows on my house, but I did see it! And it was really fun to watch the crescent pop in and out of the leaf shapes. I had turned around to go inside and saw many more on the hood of my car and that's what you're seeing here. It's not a stellar shot by any means but it's a good remembrance of a celestial event which is very rare in our neck of the woods!
Too bad I didn't get a quick shot through the glasses- but oh well- others will have a much better view anyway.
@randystreat The white crescents are the reflection of the sun. The blue tone is the shadowed area (leaves and other natural things). If you complete a circle starting from the crescent, the blue shadowed area is the moon.
@nicolecampbell It was fun- I just focused on catching the shadows as I knew I wouldn't be able to do the real thing without the proper equipment. I was expecting it to get a little darker than it did- but it was interesting to see the light acting as if it was 5 pm when it was only 3.

Thank you my friends for those kind words- it's a fun shot just for remembering but I won't be running out to make a print for an exhibit with it!
@pyrrhula That's a LONG wait!
