American Goldfinch

I'm happy to see the bright yellow plumage of the Goldfinches returning. Now if only the weather would warm up!
Isn’t it funny to see the face of this little fellow. At first it looks like two eyes on one side of the head. Such a vibrantly cheerful critter.

Crazy spring! Hopefully the birds know better than we do and it’s going to get warm!

I couldn't agree with the sentiment more. What a lovely yellow bird - almost fluorescent.

I am sitting here looking at 99 degrees. What happened to my spring? It is summer already and it will last 6 months. Silly me, drinking coffee! Your goldfinch is beautiful!

Pretty shot! Funny--I saw one recently in Louisiana. When I looked them up, it said they winter but don't breed here. I guess he heard how bad your winter had been!

@filsie65 Thanks Phil! They can sometimes sense my movement in the house but they don't always see me because the window reflects the sky.

@randystreat Thanks Kathy!
@eudora Thanks Diane! I am always happy when I see them at my feeder because they signal the coming of Spring. The Robins usually show up after them.

They must love coming to your house for breakfast

@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! They'd probably love it even more if I put thistle seeds in there!
