Artist: Camille Saint-Saens (1835-1921). A French composer, organist, conductor and pianist of the Romantic era who is best known for the compositions "Danse Macabre", "Samson and Delilah" and "The Carnival of the Animals". He was a child prodigy who performed in his first concert at the age of 10.
The title comes from a passage by Nikolai Bukharin, a Bolshevik revolutionary and theorist:
History moves in contractions. The skeleton of historic existence, the economic structure of society, also develops in contradictions. Forms eternally follow forms. Everything has only a passing being. The dynamic force of life creates the new over and over again. Such is the law inherent in reality.
It was nice to have this to play with on a rainy day and being on mandatory rest!
