This is truly my first black on black shot. I've done them before- but they were manipulated in post-processing. I had to think hard as to what I could use as a subject since I don't have a lot of black items in my home (that sort of surprised me!). I remembered my marbles had a couple of black ones- well turns out there was only one but that was all I needed! Getting this to a spot on the stove top where it would not roll was also a little bit of a challenge. But once the marble was in place and the settings in the camera adjusted so I wouldn't get too much of a blur when I held the camera in line with the marble it was click, click and done.
