The photo club took advantage of a home that was open to the public today. Marie Zimmerman was a renowned metals artist whose family initially bought farm property near the Delaware River in 1882. In 1912 she helped the family build a new home on the land by adding design details to the structure as well as beautiful flower gardens to surround it. The home is usually closed off to public view for most of the year but when the weather warms up the organization that helps to take care of the place has a couple days where you can come and see it. Today was Marie Zimmerman's birthday so the doors were open and the weather was perfect for wandering the grounds. I took this as I was heading up the road to the house because I really liked the way the light was falling across and alongside the road. You can see we've been having a lot of rain as well by looking at how lush and green the trees are.

@peterday I'm not good with mileage, but perhaps a mile or so before you come to the house. It's a cool and shady walk though with all those trees.
