A New Lease on Life by olivetreeann

A New Lease on Life

There are two "sewing" projects I have had stored up in my attic for the longest time but I decided that no matter what I was going to finish them this year. The first was to take all my sons' soccer jerseys and turn them into a quilt/wall hanging for my son and his family for Christmas. The second was to somehow incorporate some of my father's ties on to a set of curtains. I finally met a seamstress who can do both projects for me. We laid out the shirts today to pick a pattern and design for the quilt and then we did the same for the ties. They are going to be incorporated onto the tabs of these curtains and then come down at staggered lengths on the front. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Good for you to get these projects moving towards completion. The quilt is a huge undertaking. I really like the creative use of the ties too! Great shot of the process

I love the tie curtain idea! My daughter-in-law made a skirt of ties once long ago.
The unique tie designs are such beautiful bits of fabric art and you found a great way to display them! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Finishing, even beginning to finish long forgotten projects soothes the soul. Very much looking forward to seeing the end results.
