One of my friends had encouraged me to enter a juried exhibit and as a favor to her I did, however I didn't think my picture would be one that was chosen. But it was! Today my friend Karen and I drove up to Milford to see the exhibit at a local gallery. It was pretty exciting to walk into the gallery and see my picture on the wall. Although I had to smile. It was beautifully printed, matted and framed. But it was hung the wrong way! The more I looked at it though, the more I liked it and could see why they thought it went that way. So, that's how it's going to stay from now on! My apologies on the reflections and glare- there was no way around it without professional lighting- so this will just be a documentary type shot. It's pretty cool seeing your photo hanging in a professional gallery for the first time! (It's the one on the lower right if you're wondering which one it is.)
So proud for you but not really surprised. Funny about the orientation being wrong. I have had that happen with a photo I entered into the fair a few years ago!
I wasn't sure which was yours but I guessed right. When you said it was hung wrong I figured I had it right. I think in this guess any way works. Congrats!
Thank you so much! It's really true- I never would have gotten the courage to even attempt submitting to something like this if it wasn't for all the good folks here on 365 and in my photo club. You have all brought out the artist/photographer in me!
