mickle of colors

photo 548
I started out thinking about all of the colors of fabric strips I have. Then I remembered that I made a table cloth quilt with a mickle of strips. I am not a quilter. If anything I am a mixed media artist who includes fabric in much of my work at the minute.

This is a rainbow quilt I made for a celebration of incluseivness.

That IS a mickle of color! I want to learn to quilt. My grandmother quilted and I love the ones she made for me. The one from my childhood is a flower pattern and in yellow, pink, green and white. It is so happy looking and feels good to snuggle under. Maybe I will learn how but it takes a stand set up in a room and that's up alot of space!

@espyetta You can start with small lap quilts. Just learn to sew the squares together and how to cut them into patterns if you like. My daughter in law makes lots of them like that and she hand quilts them using a very large embroidery hoop. You can probably find a newbie class where you live or on Craftsy.
