I'm Smiling

Had a very busy day today collecting photos from our photography club members with the possibility of some of them being put in a calendar of Port Stephens next year.

After that I had to get all domestic and do some housework, so haven't had time today to go out and take a photo.

I have decided that today will be my weekly 'people' photo day as a filler.

This chap I saw in Sydney a while ago when he and some of his friends were entertaining the tourists at Circular Quay. I think he was getting a bit fed up, but he looked such a character I had to take his photo.
great portrait Babs

@gerry Thanks Gerry.

@marie65 Thanks Marie.I decided to do that a couple of weeks ago. If I have a day a week when I find it difficult to put a photo on 365 I thought I would do a 'people' shot from photos I have taken earlier.. This is my third.

@joluise You probably have. He is there quite often. A couple of days after I took this photo he was on the ABC News taking part in some cleansing ceremony I think it was with the Governor General there.

@elaine55 @winnedreamer Thanks Elaine and Nicki, if you look at this large, his eyes are blue, which is odd for an aboriginal chap.

@btorrey Thanks Brenda. He looks a bit scary doesn't he.

He doesn't look like the kind of person you'd cross. good portrait.

Let alone not wanting to meet him on a dark night I am not sure I would like to cross him on a bright day. Lovely natural portrait on some one you could describe as having a well lived in skin.

@gamelee @davidgnc Thanks Lee and David. I think this chap is one of the Aboriginal Elders. I don't know which tribe he belongs to, but he takes part in various ceremonies in Sydney. His headband is a symbol of the Aboriginal flag.
