Coming and Going by onewing

Coming and Going

I've had a busy day again today so no photo. I haven't got to cook dinner tonight though because we had lunch out so that is good.

This photo was taken in Newcastle when we went out with our photo club. These are two of our club members playing on the pedestrian walkway looking like the ducks on the shooting gallery at the fairground. We only shot them with the camera though.

Today's topics photo - rust

Great framing on this.

Wonderful framing. I love your analogy with ducks at the shooting gallery! This would probably make a good candidate for a black and white shot.

wonderful composition and timing to get the two figures positioned in the frame, lovely framing, patterns and colours, Great image Babs;)

Sam
I wasn't sure if those people were real or like little lego people!!
June 26th, 2014
Great creative shot.
June 26th, 2014
Great shot. Did the camera club members take it turns to provide the human element in your compositions

@gigiflower

Me neither! And I'm still a tad puzzled in spite of reading your explanation, Babs!

for a moment I thought I'd posted a picture and forgotten. But no, mine is a bit different. I like the coming and going aspect!

Hahaha, - looks like fun! Fabulous shot. :)

Good idea, lots of nice lines in this shot, I probably can't see all the detail because my daughter has the laptop, son has the ipad so I only have my phone. I'm trying to look at everybody's shots but it's a bit hard. Lol

@gigiflower @quietpurplehaze Yes they are real people. It is a pedestrian walkway at the wharf in Newcastle. Theer are a couple of arty walkways in the area. You can see the lead up to the walkway in the right of the picture and then the zig zag walk goes down to ground level.

@creampuff Thanks Eve. I did try it in b&w but decided to put the colour version in because I liked the blue against the white.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. This was taken when some of our photo club members went to Newcastle for a photo shoot and this is two of our group walking up and down the walkway while the rest of us took photos of them. They got a turn too. It got more complicated when just ordinary pedestrians got in the way of our photoshoot though.

Great framing and comparison

@pittcj17 @sioux @tracie8266 @leestevo @darthkitty @dianeburns Thanks. If you can imagine a group of us all with cameras and tripods poised while a couple of our group walked up and down the walkway. They got to have a turn though. @ethelperry @hermann Yes Ethel and Sally we did take it in turns to walk up and down the walkway.
This was taken in February and I posted another photo on the day too in the same walkway with some of our group holding 4 umbrellas. Don't know if anyone remembers it.
Other pedestrians who were trying to walk through thought we were slightly mad.

@angelat Now you mention it I have a vague memory of you doing a similar shot. When was that? I took this in February when we were out with our photo club but have only just posted it as a filler today.
June 26th, 2014
@lpot1985 Thanks Lee. It is an unusual walkway.

June 26th, 2014
Wasn't sure if they were one & the same man but no.......they do look like sitting ducks! Quite a fascinating image to look at......

June 26th, 2014
Nice shot Babs. It does look like a game!
June 27th, 2014
Love the angles in this shot Babs. Am I seeing things or is that the same bloke in two places? I must book to see the optometrist.
June 27th, 2014
@newbank @karlow75 @happypat @golftragic @cljs @kwiksilver @wordpixman Thank you all so much. We had so much fun on this outing. Caused quite a disturbance on the walkway as we took a few different types of shots in there. The poor pedestrians which we encountered thought we were quite mad.
Yes Pat and Marnie there are two people on the 'firing range' Our club president on the top level and one of our members on the bottom. You have to know your place in life. ha ha.
Just off to Newcastle as we have an appointment there, so may not be able to catch up until tomorrow.

@nanm @eyesmile @debilz @ibt @jules13 @angelar @chimfa @lilminimonka @dgrynn Thank you all so much, it was a fun day and these two members of our photo club were much easier to control than ordinary pedestrians on the walkway.
June 28th, 2014
Neat shot and lines. I thought it was the same person at first - time lapsed.
June 29th, 2014
@kathiecb Know what you mean. Rudy has got a lot more hair than John. (Don't tell John I said that though he can be a bit sensitive).
