I seem to be a day behind with everything this week. David and I went for a walk on the beach yesterday morning and I took my crystal ball with me to try and get a creative photo.
I have only just had chance to download the photos onto my computer this evening.
This section of the beach has lovely rock pools and the rocks are volcanic.
@terryliv No can't tell the future, it was a cheap one from China and it doesn't work. Yes, David is back to normal again now thanks, even his legs have grown a bit too, ha ha.
@happypat I sat the ball on the rocks, this rock is about 2 ft high and then sat on the rock bed next to it, (got a bit of a wet bum because the tide had just gone out ha ha) lined up the camera until the horizon on the ball was level with the horizon on land and click. The optical effect on the ball is due to refraction and what you see in it is an upside down image. The rocks in this area of the beach are volcanic and make excellent rock pools too.
The camera is about 6 inches in front of the ball which is why it makes it look large.
Lovely Babs. My crystal ball is now eons away. My Ebay purchase arrived 2 days ago. In stead of the ball, I now have a long mauve wig. As I had a birthday coming up I thought a friend was having a crack at me, but no , they sent the wrong item, and we are trying to negotiate a minefield of communication difficulties, my Engrish is not so good :-))
@happypat Yes, but only a couple of people saw me. David was with me too, so they didn't ring for the men in white coats. I took another photo on the other end of the beach too and was lying on the sand taking that photo. will post that on Saturday as I do a people photo on a Friday.
@onewing I've got an idea that I want to try with it, but its finding the time to carry it out, its going to be a bit of hassle but hopefully worth it. No spoilers though.
My wedding rings picture were resting on it, does that count? lol
@seattlite Thanks so much for the fav. they are fun to play with. I am going to post another one tomorrow taken on the beach. today though I do a people photo on a Friday.
@creampuff Not difficult to match the horizon at all. the ball is sitting on a rock above the ground and I just had to line the camera up with the refracted picture in the ball and the line of the horizon and click. Easy as ....
