Beauty in vandalism by onewing

Beauty in vandalism

While we were out yesterday photographing street art I came across this broken mirrored window on a shopfront.

A first I thought how awful that someone has vandalised the window, but when I looked closer it looked quite beautiful.

I still wouldn't fancy the 7 years bad luck or the cost that the owner of the shop is going to have to pay out to repair the damage though.

Today's topic photo - flora

Is it real? (I've seen a few that aren't, have been done somehow with wire or something as a 'feature'.)

I really love the feathered effect, great capture Babs :)

Yes - it does have a lovely pattern, but I agree - a shame vandals have made it this way.

Ooo, ignoring the practicalities of replacement and costs etc it really is quite beautiful. Great shot. :)

nice and bad at the same time

It almost looks like something from nature. I really like the rainbow colours that are being reflected.

Nice find. Love the pattern and colour. Perhaps the shop owner will feel the same - NOT!

Well spotted there is something beautiful about the reflections in shattered glass.

It has the shape of a bird's tail fanning out. It is beautiful but I know how much our little one cost to replace when the boys across the way caught it with a stone!

Very creative idea to capture the broken mirror!

Great idea for an image Babs, love the patterns and reflected light;)

That is a nicely shaped break, the rainbow's in the cracks are fascinating

It reminds me the tail of peacock. There is always a group of people who is so destructive, that is a pity.

Nice pattern in the glass, but someone's got to pay to have it fixed Babs.
December 29th, 2014
lovely colors of the rainbow.
December 29th, 2014
Well spotted Babs. Looks almost organic.

WOW...before I read your commentary I thought it was a wired fence .....lovely capture of it. Makes a nice abstract. Good eye and good for making something lovely out of an act of vandalism.

Well spotted Babs, it does have a kind of beauty, though it's still vandalism.

Yes Decima it is for real, it is a mirrored window of a chemist shop in Mayfield.
