Last night I was in Nelson Bay and only managed to get a couple of shots of this rainbow at the marina before 1, it disappeared and 2, it bucketed down with rain. Managed to get back to the car before the large drops of rain came down though.
@karlow75 Thanks Kane. I am not so sure about gold at the Marina Resort, it doesn't have very good reviews and isn't the best accommodation in town. Having said that there is certainly plenty of gold in the marina itself, some of the boats there are worth a fortune and it is pretty expensive to moor a boat there too.
@hermann Thanks Sally, but don't get too excited, it only bucketed down for about 10 minutes and then we were left with about 90% humidity. Our rain gauge recorded 1 mm rain.
@chimfa Thanks Jane, no I didn't find the gold. By the time I had found the shovel, the rainbow had gone and I couldn't be certain where the end of the rainbow actually was. Maybe next time.
Beautiful harbor scene full of colour and interest Babs, one of which is it shows the balcony of the Nelsen Tower Motel room we stayed in on our road trip driving from Brisbane to Sydney, lol:)
@pcoulson It is indeed. Nelson Towers is a bit more up market than the Marina Resort. You will have to come here again and we can catch up. How does the saying go "You can run but you can't hide" ha ha.
@onewing Sounds good to me we where planning to be in Oz in 2016 but Jenny wants to move closer to the grandchildren so looks like selling our home and moving house 2016 trip to Oz possibly 2017:)
Terrific harbour shot....love the spot on position of your shot.......straight on just at the right level for the boats & then the rainbow to finish it off!
@trishaford Thanks Trisha. It was only a very quick downpour and we really needed some rain too. It was so humid after the rain had gone though. February is such a hot and humid month here.
I walked along the breakwater, spotted the rainbow and then had to run back to the car before it poured down. Only wearing shorts and shirt so nowhere to hide the camera to keep it dry either. Just got back to the car in time.
