My Favourite House. by onewing

My Favourite House.

It has been so cold today and I have only stepped outside to do my shopping, so no photos today.

I thought I would post a photo of one of my favourite houses.

This house is at Stockton in Newcastle and last November it sold for $1,750,000. A bargain!

If anyone is interested here is a link to photos of the inside of the house and the floor plan.

The house was built in 1897.

What a lovely old place. But it's cold inside though!

Very colonial with it's gorgeous balcony ! I could easily live in this IF I had my cook , maids and butler and of course a gardener and grounds-men -- not asking for much am I !!!!

@pusspup You are right, but I suspect that the inside will change once the new owners get to grips with it. The photos are for the sale and the real estate people always photograph a house that looks like a show house these days rather than one that is lived in. It seems to be the latest trend.

It looks rather noble.

Lovely house on a great day :)

Lovely house, unusual looking architecture. It's unusually sweltering here, high temps and mega humidity.

Beautiful place, and the rooms inside are so spacious. A little over budget for me though. Ah well!

I can see why it is your favorite house....it is very lovely! Sorry it is so cold...we are having extreme heat. Sooo unusual for us. Kooky weather everywhere!

@sioux @annied @leestevo @yaorenliu @gilbertwood @gigiflower @seattlite @mariano @craftymeg @susanalena @chimfa @salza @bizziebeeme @thimblelady @bristol_colin @gamelee @happypat @mbmomentsintime @terryliv @paulaw @pippie @beachdog @my_photofun @fntngrma Thanks everyone. I think my daughter would love it too. She and her partner have 6 children between them (blended family) and she says they could have a room each if they lived here. That's the easy bit. All we have to raise now is one and three quarter million dollars. If you hear of any banks being robbed it wasn't me, honest.

@beryl haha, no Beryl you aren't asking for much. If you can afford this house you would be able to afford all the staff too no doubt.
July 3rd, 2015
@karlow75 I will let you know Kane if it comes up for sale again and you can put in a bid next time. Close to the ocean too.
July 3rd, 2015
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. Not sure we would ever be able to downsize. We have too much stuff in our house and too many hobbies.
July 3rd, 2015
Aiming high there Babs. Just imagine how cold it would be in winter! But it does look lovely from the outside.
July 3rd, 2015
@jennywren Thanks Jen heard about the heat you have been having in the UK. My sister lives there. Hope you can cope. I love the heat. The good thing about winter in Australia is that it isn't cold every day during winter, just a few days of a cold snap and then it warms up a bit.
July 3rd, 2015
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. Roll on summer. It is winter here in Australia at the moment and the cold snap we are having at the moment is because there is snow on the Barrington Tops about 130 km away from us and it always sends cold air down to the coast. It will be warm again soon though.
July 3rd, 2015
@onewing We are the same down sizing may mean just less height going from our large 4 bed detached house to a detached 4 bed bungalow with more land, lol:)
July 3rd, 2015
@pcoulson ha ha, that is exactly what we did, 4 bedroom house single storey and 200 metres from the ocean. Single storey is much easier on the knees.

A beautiful house and lovely shot Babs.
