I am still out of kilter with my photos and I took this photo on Saturday when we went to Newcastle to the theatre.
This building, now an Insurance Brokers, was originally the Lambton Post Office built in 1884 at a cost of £1848.
I haven't had chance to catch up with 365 today, I had a medical appointment this morning, then my friend called in, the one who I have been doing family history with and then this afternoon because it has been such a beautiful day David and I went out for a walk.
What a lovely and impressive looking building .--I love the coloured roof and the matching coloured striped canopy and the arched windows !-- so colonial !
I hope all went well with your hosp. app. and your arm is healing well !! These things take their time don't they !
A very handsome former post office Babs. Where has the PO moved to? The PO here is putting all PO counters in shops. They are no longer getting a salary every year for PO work but instead have to make money through other sales. Ours is moving into the off licence & newsagents.
@beryl Thanks Beryl, all going well, physio today and back to see the surgeon next Tuesday. Hopefully by then I will be able to take off the splint and drive the car again.
@happypat Same here Pat. This is a very small suburb of Newcastle and the current post office is a counter at the back of the Newsagency I believe. A far cry from this grand building.
I hope all went well with your hosp. app. and your arm is healing well !! These things take their time don't they !
