From classy motorbikes, to classy camper vans, and now David's old Subaru and rather tatty trailer. ha ha.
Today's Friday people photo, taken a couple of weeks ago, is of David collecting free mulch for the garden.
A few months ago you may remember we had a huge east coast low here in the Bay, resulting in hundreds of trees being felled. As a result of that the Council decided to mulch the trees and leave the mulch for anyone to collect free of charge.
As I said we collected a trailer load a couple of weeks ago and then went back again on Wednesday for another load. All we have to do now is to put it on the flower beds.
I think this will be the last trip for the trailer as it is rather rusty and we are getting a new one soon.
I've had a long day today and this weekend is our photo club's annual photography exhibition. We are going down tonight to set it all up.
Not sure how much I will be doing though as I have a splitting headache at the moment and also my irregular heartbeat is making me really tired at the moment. Hopefully should get the results of the tests on Tuesday and see where we go from there.
Will check out 365 now while I am having a cuppa and then will catch up again tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who commented on the 'Wicked Camper' yesterday.
A great candid shot , and a wonderful freebee from your local council !! Hope you will feel better soon , and hope you will have good results and suitable treatment when you have your appointment on Tuesday ! Have a relaxing weekend !
I hope that isn't your fork waiting there Babs ....I expect it is though! No forking with an irregular heartbeat! A great opportunity to get some mulch.....I remember that storm when you were without electricity for days!
@happypat No Pat that isn't my fork, but just by David's shovel you can see a rake and another spade and I was doing some shovelling with the spade. Oops! My heart was okay but my wrist was a bit sore by the time I'd finished even though I put the splint on my wrist to stop the movement too much. No hope for me is there, ha ha.
The council did that in Townsville after the last cyclone. It's a great way to recycle those trees. Sorry to hear you've had some health problems, hope it all turns out to be a simple fix. Maybe a pacemaker? My mother in law has one and has been so much better since.
@ladymagpie Thanks Heather. I did do some of the shovelling too, but not quite as much as David did. Luckily the day wasn't too hot, just around 25 degrees C I think. I tried emailing some mulch, but they said the email was over 20 megs so it wouldn't go.
@karlow75@golftragic Thanks. There is tons of it. On our way home this afternoon we saw mounds and mounds of mulch on Nelson Bay Road. It will be supplying people in free mulch for months I should think.
what a wonderful idea to leave the mulch for people to help themselves. Hard work though shovelling it in and then out of the trailer. Hope you get your health problem sorted out on Tuesday
@cruiser Thanks Chris. I hope I get 'sorted' on Tuesday too, ha ha. Have had irregular heartbeat for a while, maybe my new doctor will find a solution.
I think lots of people will benefit from the free mulch for a while. There are mounds of it at various places around the Bay
