Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and concerns about yesterday's photo, the first of my woodland shots.
The tick did manage to draw some blood from David and he has a lump behind his ear. I lathered the bull ant bites with Stingoes and it is fine now. Could have been a lot worse. Luckily we didn't spot any snakes.
This is what I was photographing when I encountered the ants.
That must of been awful getting bitten by the bull ants. They are horrible. And with the tick, they usually are near the tops of long grasses and attach themselves to anything that brushes past. Possums and other such animals help transport them around. The new treatment to remove them is the freeze type spray that they use to remove warts. Don't use tweezers.
Lovely photo of the fungi.
@365projectorgjenfurj I've never been bitten by bull ants before but I have by green ants. I think green ants are worse.
David used to go out with the bird watching group and he invariably came home with a tick on him so we are experts at removing them.
I have been seeing lots of fungi around in the parks here now, they are on my list of things to photograph too. Nice contrasts in this picture in the lines of the tree and the circular patterns on the caps.
you don't get all this agro with the flower photos do you? But still, a good funghi photo is always of interest. Sorry you had so much pain between you to get this one.
