Surf Rescue

The rain has finally stopped this afternoon, but I suspect that more may be on the way.

The surf rescue people are on patrol at the beach to make sure the surfers and swimmers are kept safe.
My eldest daughter was at Camp Bury all week and it did not stop raining. Needless to say her suitcase stank to high heaven when I opened it last night; everything was wet.

You can see he is looking out to sea - they do this all the time - to our advantage - if we are swimming of course!

Great shot. Love the yellows and blues together.

Sorry about all the rain. Do you ever go in the sea Babs? I think you get a lot of exercise walking along the beach with your camera. It is good to see all the different scenes and activities.

The water looks very inviting even if a bit rough. I like the matching shirt and board (yellow), I suppose the rescue people wear very bright colour shirt to ensure they are recognised.

What a nice warm sunny picture. I am so looking forward to some heat and sunny days. We had a taste of Spring last Monday, but now it is back to good old British weather...cold, grey miserable, spitting rain... sigh...

An effective community service, assuring the safety of all. Long may it continue.

Saw some pictures in the paper (or on TV?) and it looks like you've had a real pounding. Is your place OK?
March 19th, 2017
@nicolecampbell It has rained on and off all week here. Still pretty warm and humid though. Apparently we have got another week of rain.

@stray_shooter @dawnee @paul10 @maggiemae @beryl @sangwann @quietpurplehaze @salza @seattlite @megpicatilly @jesperani @suesouthwood @pyrrhula @happypat @s4sayer @littleconnie @twinsplusone @loweygrace Thanks, they do a fabulous job. This is on the ocean side of the bay so quite a lot of surfers and kite surfers as well as swimmers. They have to keep a look out for sharks too.
March 19th, 2017
@gigiflower The ocean here is perfectly clean. Love it.
March 19th, 2017
@casablanca I agree they are gorgeous, nice bum too, ha ha.
March 19th, 2017
@helenhall We really needed the rain, but have seen enough of it now. It is still very warm and humid.
I don't go in the sea often, I prefer to walk along the beaches here and we have a lot to choose from. This is at Anna Bay on the ocean side of the bay. If you check out Anna Bay on google maps you will see where it is. I live at Corlette.
March 19th, 2017
@claudiet Yes they do wear bright colours to be recognised. This is the ocean side of the bay so the water is very popular with surfers.
March 19th, 2017
@pcoulson The surfers are usually pretty good at surviving on their own. The main thing the surf rescue look out for here are sharks.
March 19th, 2017
@stephanies We have had quite a lot of on and off rain here the last week, but much needed. It is still pretty warm though so it gets very humid.
March 19th, 2017
@golftragic We are fine. although we have had plenty of rain, it isn't as bad as some areas. We tend to miss the worst of the severe weather here. Still pretty warm though so quite humid. I am beginning to get webbed feet, but not to bad yet.

The life savers are so wonderful. And guess what - we finally had rain!! Yay, doing a little dance.
March 19th, 2017
Superb shot Babs.

Lee
I dont suppose rain bothers these people Babs. Good shot.
March 19th, 2017
yellow and blue - a marriage made in heaven especially with a little orange thrown in too.. love the layered look, it gives a great sense of depth....
March 19th, 2017
love the yellow against the blue water. We have surfboad riders who go out in big storms to catch the waves. Adelaide beaches usually dont have much in the way of waves as we are on the gulf.
