The Invisible Man by onewing

The Invisible Man

As I posted a rather sci fi photo yesterday with the photo of a Tardis I thought I would stay with a bit of a science fiction theme today too.

I haven't posted any of my regular Friday people photos for a while and I spotted this one when I was looking through old photos a couple of days ago.

This was taken in April at the Maitland Steamfest. It was a hot day and I saw this scary looking chap walking towards. He reminded me of the Invisible Man. I only managed to get one photo as he passed and I couldn't really see if he was happy or not about me taking his photo. I didn't stop to ask either because he looked quite creepy.

If you look behind him you will see that he had a friend with him dressed in a similar fashion.

I haven't had chance today yet to catch up with your photos. I will try and catch up this evening.

I have had a 'me' day today and it has been lovely. I had my hair cut this morning, home for lunch and then drove up to Oakvale Farm to take some photos because it has been a beautifully sunny day today and very warm for winter. I think the temperature was around 19 degrees C.

I haven't had chance yet to process any of my photos. I will take a look at them over the weekend.
how bizarre

Ah !! the zombies were out and about were they --I would think , - not the most comfortable costume in the heat !!Most probably the pair would have the most grumpy look in the heat !

very bizarre ...

He does look creepy. I wouldn't have liked to see him walking towards me if no-one else was about. Makes a great 365 capture though.

What a funny look.
July 7th, 2017
He is a bit creepy however a cool image
July 7th, 2017
Mmmmmm, interesting capture. Would love to know the story :)
July 7th, 2017
Yes, I would love to know why they are dressed like this too. Smog mask perhaps and a towel for swimming :)

How interesting. I go with Connie's theory above.

He is absolutely the invisible man, I think David McCallum could just be lurking behind those bandages.......loved that when I was a kid! Enjoyed the book too. Creepy but interesting.
Loved what you said about children's books, I totally agree. I have so enjoyed recently revisiting some classics of my youth, such good stories!

very creepy.
July 7th, 2017
Babs, you capture such wonderful street people shots.....

@littleconnie @jessikapanteleios They look like smog masks don't they but there is no smog and the towel for swimming is not a good idea because Maitland is inland and no ocean nearby. They were very strange.
July 7th, 2017
very odd, well snapped!
July 7th, 2017
Well I do wonder what his face wrap is concealing. Oh my.
July 7th, 2017
Strange thing to do?! The mind boggles
July 7th, 2017
Looks a bit creepy to me.
Is this case of OCD on the germ front ?
Makes an interesting street shot though.
July 7th, 2017
Very strange and quite a bit creepy, although there is probably an explanation for the wraps!
July 7th, 2017
Well spotted and definitely different. It makes me think of "a virus affecting Town".
July 7th, 2017
I think you were quite brave! Good you had a me day as I'm sure you deserve it!
July 7th, 2017
We`ve a big discusion in our country : will we forbid wearing a burqa in plublick places. ? (S)He can enjoy into it. Great capture of the man?
July 7th, 2017
Oooh well spotted.
July 7th, 2017
How strange quite why he needed to be totally covered will possibly remain one of life's mysteries, its a great candid capture Babs:)
July 7th, 2017
How extraordinary! A great photo, but agree with you, wouldn't want to be alone on the street with him! Sounds like you have had a lovely 'me' day!
July 7th, 2017
So unusual, and a strong image.
July 7th, 2017
😱 Great title! FAV!
July 7th, 2017
Interesting shot and story, Babs. I'm glad you had a good "me" day, too.
July 8th, 2017
Yeah, definitely creepy! But you got the shot. Glad you enjoyed your "me" day!
July 8th, 2017
Decidedly creepy, but a good shot nevertheless.
July 8th, 2017
Such an interesting shot and yes, a bit creepy.
July 8th, 2017
Weird looking couple!

@annied @beryl @julzmaioro @susiemc @yaorenliu @dawnee @hermann @cruiser @happysnaps @pusspup @louannwarren @lyndamcg @dizzyd @craftymeg @claudiet @quietpurplehaze @pyrrhula @busylady @pcoulson @megpicatilly @taffy @skipt07 @mittens @olivetreeann @golftragic @gaylewood @kjarn Thanks. I wouldn't have dared take his picture if I had been on a street by myself, he did look rather creepy. Luckily there were lots of people around. If I remember rightly the temperature was around 28 degrees C that day so quite warm to be wrapped up like this. Not hot enough to be totally covered though. He must have been melting under that lot.
Thanks to the people who commented on my 'me' day. I had a lovely day. David's cold had come back with a vengeance and he spent most of the day in bed with a temperature so I left him to rest after we had lunch. He is feeling much better again today. I don't think he will be going in hospital again for a while, he is still recovering from the germs he picked up there. ha ha.

Lee
Takes all kinds to make a world, well done on the shot.
July 8th, 2017
Excellent street capture.
July 8th, 2017
@onewing Don't laugh, that statement may well be true. Look what happened to me last time - got MRSA.
July 9th, 2017
I find this a bit freaky. Maybe when you take off the scarf there'll be no-one to see underneath! xx
July 9th, 2017
Nowt stranger than folks as they say... Very odd, maybe just done for drama/effect/reaction? Either way, cool capture.
July 9th, 2017
with the pace of life seeming to speed up by the second 'me' days are pretty much essential..
Whatever the reason for the face covering - it makes for an interesting and unusual street shot.. well done Babs..
July 9th, 2017
@psychographer I didn't wait to find out, he was creepy enough with the towerl wrapped around his face.
July 10th, 2017
@stephanies One of my Grandad's favourite sayings. He came from Yorkshire.
July 10th, 2017
@jorlam I really had a lovely 'me' day. We have had a rather stressful time here lately and a quiet day was essential.
July 10th, 2017
Weird. People would panic in the uk at the moment I suspect.
